FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT to PACK

But seriously... what should I pack? We always expect the unexpected in Northern Michigan, but typical weather in the Summer can include warm days, cool nights and of course a bit of rain here and there. Be sure to bring a warm jacket for night-time campfires and star-gazing, as well as gear to deal with the rain in case it finds us.

When should I arrive and depart?

We warmly welcome you to arrive between 3:00 and 4:30 PM on August 8th to settle in and soak up the surroundings. Our time together will conclude with a 10:00 AM departure on August 11th.

Is wi-fi + Cell Service available at the retreat?

There’s poor cell service and no wi-fi on site. If you have any urgent technological needs, please take care of them prior to the retreat. When we go to town, there are coffee shops with wi-fi and the cell service is clear – so if you need to check in, you can. You can also schedule to use the landline to make a phone call.

Since our retreat will be focused on listening to the voice of your heart, which can be challenging to hear in the noise of our tech-connected lives, I highly recommend turning on an autoresponder and turning off your connection to email and social media during our time together. It will be waiting there for you when the retreat is over, I promise!

Can I bring my digital camera?

At Wild Wondrous Women, we invite you to step away from screens and be fully present…with yourself, with nature, and with this beautiful community. For this reason, we ask that you leave behind all digital devices, including phones, smartwatches, and digital cameras with screens behind.

But don’t worry you’ll still be able to relive the special moments. We will have a professional photographer quietly capturing the beauty of the retreat, and I’ll share a full gallery of photos with you after our time together.

If you'd like to capture a few keepsakes of your own, screen-free instant cameras (like Polaroids or disposable cameras) are welcome. There’s something timeless about holding a memory in your hands as it develops with no screens or distractions.

Let’s slow down, unplug, and experience life fully one meaningful moment at a time.
